Medical News Summary (summary of medical news story as reported by US News): A skin cancer study has found that white people are much more prone to melanoma but dark skinned people were more likely to die from it due to later diagnosis. The survival rates for melanoma were the same for white and dark-skinned if they were diagnosed at the same stage. White people also tended to have their melanomas located in different parts of the body to dark-skinned people. It is believed that they may well be different cancers.
