The drug aims to treat the physical as well as emotional symptoms of depression. Antidepressants generally only treat the emotional symptoms. However, some people should not use this product due to health risks. This includes people who: have allergies to duloxetine hydrochloride, take thiroidazine, have recently taken the antidepressant monoamine oxidase inhibitor, have hepatic insufficiency, have end-stage renal disease, have uncontrolled,narrow-angle glaucoma, are high alcohol consumers or are pregnant or nursing. Side effects of the drug include nausea, dry mouth, constipation, decreased appetite, fatigue, sleepiness and increased sweating.
