Medical News Summary (summary of medical news story as reported by WebMD Health News): A recent report in The Journal of the American Medical Association suggests that low birth weight babies face only the slightest increase in risk of high cholesterol. Previously, low birth weight due to a pregnant motherís poor nutrition has been linked to adult diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. These studies have however been deemed flawed by others. Thus, researchers point out that it is up the adult to take care of their cholesterol problem by changing their diet or taking appropriate medication.
