Medical News Summary (summary of medical news story as reported by The Associated Press): A rare tremor disorder in adults is often misdiagnosed as Parkinsonís or Alzheimerís. The disorder can be treated with some of the same medications as used for Parkinsonís and Alzheimerís. Scientists at the University of California believe it might affect more than 1 in 3000 adults. The disorder is called Fragile x-associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome and has links to a common cause of child mental retardation.
