Hospitals are funding education programs for school children. They will encourage children to test their BMI, height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar in order to be more aware of their body’s state of health. In the UK, 40% of 5 to 8 year olds have one or more risk factors for heart disease. 40% of elementary school children are overweight, 42% have high cholesterol and up to 35% face the risk of heart disease.
