Diabetic Lens: Another name for Diabetic Lens Osmosis.
Diabetic Lens (condition): Eye lens vision changes due to diabetic sugars; usually reversible.
Diabetic Lens (condition): Despite all the prominent material about diabetic retinopathy, there is actually a less harmful and common eyesight change resulting from diabetes. It is a short-term complication of high blood sugars and not a long-term complications like retinopathy. It is usually easily treated and curable.
This eye condition occurs when the occular lens fills with fluid, due to high blood sugars, and changes the way the lens refracts light. This occurs commonly at diagnosis in patients with high sugars (especially rapid-onset Type I diabetes diagnosis), and also occurs over the years if patients cannot control sugars, and blood sugars go too high.
