Medical Malpractice Dictionary: Mesothelioma litigation

Mesothelioma litigation: Legal litigation related to mesothelioma (rare asbestos-related cancer)

Mesothelioma litigation: Mesothelioma is a type of cancer of the membrane cells that surround the lungs. It can also affect other membrane cells in peritoneal mesothelioma or pericardial mesothelioma; see types of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is an active area of litigation, usually product liability, personal injury, wrongful death or other liability, rather than medical malpractice. However, medical malpractice may also be an issue with mesothelioma because mesothelioma is difficult to diagnose, especially in its early stages. Failure to diagnose mesothelioma will typically worsen its prognosis.
