Medical Malpractice Dictionary: Claim Evaluation

Claim Evaluation: Evaluation of the merits of your claim by an attorney

Claim Evaluation: Claim evaluation is when an attorney or someone else evaluates the merits of your claim (e.g. your case). They will determine how likely it is that you may win damages through lawsuit or settlement. In a medical malpractice claim, the attorney might consider factors such as how likely it is that negligence or other liability can be proven against a doctor or other medical person or organization. The evaluation of the merits of a claim requires professional legal advice from a qualified attorney.
